Clyde Dunton-Gallagher

Clyde Dunton-Gallagher earned his JD at the University of Miami School of Law.

Mr. Dunton-Gallagher has experience representing clients in agency enforcement actions and disputes over coverage, negligence (marine and land-based), Seafarer’s injuries and benefits, medical malpractice, construction defects, warranty & product liability, marine & commercial property coverage, transportation (trucking, railways, ferries), and other claims.

For clients subject to rule enforcement, Mr. Dunton-Gallagher communicates with the agency, attends hearings, investigates and reports on exposure, remediation and/or compliance, and best practices.

Mr. Dunton-Gallagher also authors and revises guidance, policies/procedures, SMS, contracts, agreements, and other documents for internal and external client use. He has revised mass-use employment contracts, collective bargaining agreements, and procedures/SMS for F500 companies and international marine industry employers. 

After law school, Mr. Dunton-Gallagher practiced at three local Miami firms that specialized in – respectively – consumer rights and banking, cruise industry matters, and general maritime practice. 

Mr. Dunton-Gallagher then “scaled up” to work for a national, AM100 law firm (500+ attorneys, 35+ states).  As the most senior supervising attorney in that firm’s Miami office, Mr. Dunton-Gallagher supervised litigation attorneys representing insured clients in lawsuits throughout Florida. Mr. Dunton-Gallagher also assisted colleagues in offices outside Florida on expert witness-related discovery and motions practice, a technical area of legal practice where he is particularly competent. 

Before law school, Mr. Dunton-Gallagher studied philosophy in graduate school at Temple University. There, he concentrated on science studies, especially the human sciences, epistemology, machine learning, and complex dynamic systems.

Mr. Dunton-Gallagher has instructed over 30 university courses in philosophy, the social sciences, history, and literature.  He has been Adjunct Faculty in philosophy at Miami Dade College off and on since 2015.

Mr. Dunton-Gallagher has a diverse network of friends and colleagues the world over, who he values keeping up with and assisting in their projects. He lives in Miami with his family and cat.
